B.D.G. 86

B.D.G. 86 is an innovative product designed to eliminate the characteristic “black stains” caused by manganese oxides and hydroxides, often found on ceramic, stone, bone, and glass artifacts from archaeological sites. These deposits, formed by the oxidation of manganese in the presence of bacteria, algae, and fungi, deteriorate the aesthetics and surface of the artifacts, compromising their original appearance.



The B.D.G. 86 solution is a colorless, transparent, odorless compound with a neutral pH (or slightly acidic, depending on the requirements). It is effective, safe, and does not damage historical or artistic materials. Thanks to its redox action, the product removes manganese microaggregates in a short time (15–20 minutes under normal conditions) without leaving residues or causing saline recrystallization.
