PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A resin obtained from the saponification of polyvinyl acetate, used for the formulation of aqueous adhesive solutions to various materials, as a protective varnish for metals and a consolidant for paint films (especially in a damp state). It is soluble in water and partially in ethanol and methanol, while it is insoluble in organic solvents. Films are stable and transparent.
PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:
- Appearance: white ivory powder
- Viscosity: 8 ± 1 mPas (in 4% aqueous sol. at 20°C)
- pH: approx. 6 (in 4% aqueous sol. at 20°C)
- Hydrolysis degree: 87 - 89
- Glass transition temperature (Tg): 65°C
