A waxen substance which comes out from the leaves and the green parts of the wax producing Copernicia, in Brazil. It is supplied in the form of small irregular light yellow flakes and is hardly soluble in solvents at room temperature; its solubility improves from 45°C onwards. Carnauba Wax is very resistant and bright and is added to other waxes to increase their melting point, hardness and glossiness.
