Dioxide of pure silicon (SiO2) obtained from the pyrohydrolysis of silicon compounds, amorphous to X-rays, whose particle surface has no pores. Lo-Vel 27 is a hydrophilic silica (wettable with water), which is physiologically inert; it is added to varnishes, resins, silicone rubbers, etc. as a matting and thickening agent and to improve the thixotropic result.
